So... The word of the day today is "prosaic".
In today's world, prosaic means dull, unimaginative. Ordinary.
Originally prosaic meant anything not written in verse, or poetry. Since anything not written in verse was considered regular or ordinary language, and anything written in verse was considered heightened language, we gradually began to use prosaic as a synonym for anything that was drab or dull.
My girlfriend and I have been having a few problems. We've been in a downcycle. Everyone has those. Sometimes the relationship's going great, other times it doesn't. Ups and Downs. We're in the downs.
The problem has been that we're both really busy, and we haven't had a whole lot of time to spend together, so we haven't had a chance to invest some positive energy to get to the Ups. (The direction, not the United Parcel Service.)
This has been frustrating her, since her life is busy enough, she hardly needs the added stress of working on her relationship problems.
So we decided to take a little break. What I mean is, I'm gonna give her some space for a while, some time where she doesn't have to think about me at all, so she can be relationship-stress free.
All things considered, I think it's the best thing for the relationship, and she's very appreciative that I'm being so understanding.
Still, it fucking sucks.
